I have no idea whether it was a stupid question or not, but dressing down "one of your own" live on the BBC is quite simply unprofessional.

If he was really that angry about the question (and I'm not sure he should have been) he should have spoken to Vickers off camera afterwards or phoned him later.

This incident poisoned the speech for me, which is a pity as it was quite a good speech.

He followed this up with an unspeakable degree of aggression in "answering" an ex-Lib Dem voter in Newcastle on Thursday, again shown live on BBC News 24. It was painful to watch. Has he no idea how this looks on live TV? I was appalled.

In addition to which, he almost always repeats the same answers over and over again at each opportunity and has been doing so for months now. Has he no ability to speak off the cuff?

I'm not a Lib Dem member so I can only take your word for it when you say that Nick is an able, decent person.

Last week my sort-of, maybe, giving the coalition the benefit of the doubt was pretty much finally stretched to breaking point by these episodes.

We members of the public are not opposing MPs and shouting at us as if we are is no way to win us over. He seriously needs to reassess the way he relates to us.Tiggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05431841925494604151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22057922.post-17817874713764928002010-08-23T20:46:40.655+01:002010-08-23T20:46:40.655+01:00Nick Clegg needs to remember he is in the Lib Dems...Nick Clegg needs to remember he is in the Lib Dems, not the party of government. These are two seperate things and this does not come over in his speaking.Nich Starlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04237390959601973501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22057922.post-11685646171835853142010-08-23T13:00:04.269+01:002010-08-23T13:00:04.269+01:00No its not MY disagreement with Nick it's HIS ...No its not MY disagreement with Nick it's HIS relationship with Cameron!Linda Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05155438246679688058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22057922.post-53018452350554765312010-08-23T12:54:41.003+01:002010-08-23T12:54:41.003+01:00Are you seriously comparing your disagreement with...Are you seriously comparing your disagreement with Nick Clegg to an abusive relationship?
