Are we getting slaughtered on the GLA?

I just had a comment left on my blog about the GLA, suggesting that we are getting slaughtered, down to 3 seats at most. Hope this isn't the case, I had high hopes for Meral.

I don't really think you can tell at the moment since the top up seats are allocated based upon that ballot plus how many seats from the constituency vote.

I've got my fingers crossed for Meral (it being my old constituency I still have some attachment).

By the 'GLA' i assume you mean the 'LA': the London Assembly [http://www.london.gov.uk/assembly/assembly_about.jsp]? I expect our tally to be unchanged @ 5, all from the list.

Top up seats are only calculated after all the constituency seats are taken into account, so its somewhat impossible to predict who will get top up seats not knowing who has won constituency seats...

Comments on blogs during the count are probably the least reliable type of rumours :-)

I think a win for Meral is at the very optimistic end of things looking at what's been happening elsewhere. I would be more than happy to get that one wrong though!

We will see, just heard BP saying that he thinks his share of the vote has gone up, in which case I trust the rumour will be just that.
