I am still fizzing about the outrageous antics of Huhne and/or his team on the Politics Show. I am far too ladylike to say what I really think, so I will have to stick with horrible. His team's briefing to the Politics Show, presumably hoping their tag would stick, smacks of total desperation. So I hope he ends up hoisted on his own petard. This it seems is just the latest in a long line of spin and "misinformation". In the Observer this morning Team Huhne even tried to suggest he had twice as many supporters as Clegg...........doh!!!!!! Since when was 1000 twice as many as 1441? So he can't do maths either, and I thought that was supposed to be one of his USPs?
Sorry, I am a bit cross............I will sign off now before I say something I may regret. The sad thing is that regardless of who wins the leadership battle, Horrible Huhne's legacy may take a while to recover from in the wider party and that is a disservice to all of us.

I think Chris has blown it. I had been waivering, because he seemed so much more animated than Nick had done, but after that disastrous showing ...
Quite agree, Chris has just lost any chance he had of getting my vote. I was pretty certain for Nick before, but was waiting until i'd attended my local hustings next weekend before deciding. Luckily Chris and his 'team' have just made the decision for me..
I think it's incredibly poor spectacle and I'm very disappointed in Chris. It's a real shame he has taken it to this...
Is he going to distance himself from the document or do another 'edit' before changing it...
Let along whether the document is true or not - Hulne behaviour on The Politics Show was like a bully and very unnecessary. He labels Clegg a 'flip-flopper' is part of his smear campaign.
I’m not a political activist but just a general follower of politics living in a marginal seat where the lib dems have recently developed a foothold on the council. This mornings politics show did one thing - it made me want to do a bit more online digging about the lib dems...but not in a positive way! The whole episode was embarrassing; the way the document was produced, the two candidates hugely exposed by the way they were sat alongside each other, the continual talking over one another, and the lack of any message for non-lib people to take away with them to encourage them to vote. The initial damage might be internal to the party – but the damage beyond the party could be far worse! Stumbling on these blogs - I’m glad to see lib dem people have recognised just how amateur the whole episode was!
I tell you one thing, if the Cameron-lite Clegg ever gets to become leader then I stop voting lib dem and start voting green.
Your choice - do your worst.
From BBC website
"A spokeswoman for Mr Huhne said the title of the leaked document "Calamity Clegg" had been thought up by an "over-zealous researcher".
She added that Mr Huhne stood by the contents of the document - a list of quotations which she which she said showed Mr Clegg's policy "flip-flops".
I think Nick would be justified in and sensible to leave Huhne out of his shadow cabinet after today's performance...
In response to anonymous "I'm not a political activist" thanks for your feedback, it is so important. I am very disappointed at what happened today, at the heart of why any of us get involved in politics, I hope, is a belief in creating a better world. For me that is best expressed through liberal policies. Unfortunately, in a soundbite, instant gratification, passive consumerist age, the media is not interested enough in exploring these issues and will only sit up and take notice when there is a bit of a barny. To anonymous "Cameron lite" jibe. Frankly I would never ever support someone who was a pale imitation of a Tory, so I am sorry you have been taken in by yet another misrepresentation from Huhne. If you feel happier supporting the Greens, sobeit, that is what democracy is all about. I now feel similarly to you if Chris wins, but the party is bigger than the leader and policy is made by the members. I will find it difficult if he wins but I think our values as a party are worth fighting for so I would stay and probably make myself unpopular......but why break the habit of a lifetime?!
I concur with everything you've said Linda. I was horrified (but not surprised) at Huhne's behaviour. It is rooted in his character. If you read up on his personal life and the way he has treated his wife's first husband and his two stepdaughters - it all becomes very clear. I am voting for Nick. I will resign my party membership if Huhne wins.
Chris Almighty - You are a disgrace to the party and, even if you did want to stay, I hope that you will be drummed out.
Go back to the gutter.
I suspect Chris Almighty isn't a party member, judging by the way he abbreviates the party's name.
I'm not backing Chris in this contest but these scurrilous postings about him are well beyond the Pale. They also don't ring true: if they really were, then why does Huhne's wife's former brother-in-law (another Pryce) support Huhne so strongly. If this stuff were true, you wouldn't expect them even to be speaking.
Thank you "Anon". I'm a She. I have been a member for many years. Actually a proud Liberal Party member. (I was never wild about the SDP incursion - and Huhne came in from the Labour Party if I recall correctly.) Perhaps "Anonymous" is unfamiliar with abbreviations. The details about Huhne's family life are well-known to a lot of people who worked with Huhne at the Guardian and Indie. The fact that one ex-brother-in-law is sticking with a very rich ex-sister-in-law proves nothing conclusive of course. Families are riven with unusual divides and strange bedfellows. Those in Fleet Street who knew Huhne in the 80's know the story... And more and more people are curious enough to check it out. With good reason.
